Frisco Jazz Band to perform at senior dance

(Frisco) Whether you boogie down on the dance floor or prefer to watch others cut the rug, the Senior Center at Frisco Square is the place to be on the second Saturday of every month. The newly expanded 17,000 square foot facility brings in live entertainment for a dance event designed especially for Frisco’s senior citizens.

The Frisco Jazz Band will perform 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, sponsored by Chateau of McKinney. Light refreshments will be sponsored by Bravo Health. Tickets are $5 at the door, or purchase them in advance at the Senior Center, 6680 Moore St.

You do not need to be a member to attend the dance, but the event is for those 50 years and older, or for those attending with a spouse who is 50 or older.

The Senior Center also offers a library, game room with card tables, chess and puzzles, and a comfortable seating area with a television. A state-of-the-art fitness center is also available with something for everyone’s fitness needs. There is a computer room with Internet access and a printer, a commercial kitchen and a “help yourself” to beverages and snacks galley. Top that off with an area for crafts, billiards and table tennis – and it’s more than home away from home for Frisco’s seniors.
