The Rockwall Area Retired Association, RARTA, was treated to a trip back in time through a special presentation by Sheri Fowler entitled “Hats and More” at the October meeting.

Sheri brought an amazing selection of hats from her personal collection and narrated a slideshow of original photos of Rockwall residents.

Several members got into the spirit of the meeting and wore a favorite chapeau.

District X TRTA president, LaWynn Rogers, who was introduced by President Marvin Lee, brought both discouraging news as well as possibilities from Austin about benefits for RARTA.

Hostesses for the meeting were: Elizabeth Cameron, Doris Cullins, Ruth Holt, Shirley Ferguson and Katherine Stevener.

The next RARTA meeting will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 in the RISD Administration Building. The meeting will feature Pat Stodghill presenting “How to save those memories – in poetry or prose.” RARTA meetings are open to all retired school employees and their guests.
