Pardners Foundation supports Rowlett’s parks system

Howdy, Pardners! The Rowlett Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Oct. 20 for Rowlett Pardners Foundation, Inc., an organization which exists to support the parks system of the city of Rowlett.  This includes, but is not limited to, volunteering at events, fundraising, building park amenities, and building relationships with the community.

The idea for the Rowlett Pardners Foundation began when members of the Rowlett Parks Board wanted to start an Adopt-a-park program.  Individuals and businesses could then have a way to directly fund park improvements with their donations.  However, the only way to efficiently do this was to establish a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated for this purpose.  The Rowlett Pardners Foundation has had a couple of fundraisers, publicizing their foundation, and raising funds.  Their biggest accomplishment to date has been partnering with Kaboom Forester, and the city of Rowlett on the community playground build. The ‘PARD’ in pardners stands for Parks And Recreation Department.
