Gingerbread houses equal rescued homes

Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church will host its annual Family Gingerbread House Contest with a new twist. Join them from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11 at Asbury Hall for all the great fun of year’s past, but with a new focus on community outreach.

Participants who register online for the Family Gingerbread House Contest have the option to pay for extra gingerbread houses to be used by lower-income families. All families are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to the event to be donated to Exodus House, a ministry commited to helping mothers – who have served time in prison – a chance to reconnect with their children in a healthy, positive way. Lover’s Lane UMC says this year, “Gingerbread houses equal rescued homes!”

The cost is $20 plus an unwrapped toy for Exodus House per house. Reservation deadline is Monday, Dec. 5.

Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church is located at 9200 Inwood Road in Dallas.
