Musical fairy tale features some area’s best known stage actors

Theatre FMPAT celebrates anniversary with gala at MCL Grand

Theatre FMPAT, formerly Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre, will celebrate its 20th anniversary with “Once Upon a Time,” a musical fairy tale featuring an all-star cast presenting selections from past productions. The event is scheduled for two shows, Feb. 17-18, in the Black Box at the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater.

“Once Upon a Time – A Musical Fairy Tale Comes True” joins favorite theatre songs in a two-act original production benefiting Theatre FMPAT, and will open the company’s 20th season.

Both evenings will start at 7:30 p.m. with a reception, followed by the performance starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 per person. Special VIP packages are available for $75 and include reserved premium seating and a cast-autographed copy of the 20th Anniversary booklet.

The cast for “Once Upon a Time” includes of some of North Texas’ best-known stage actors including Beth Albright, Andi Allen, Megan Kelly Bates, Lon Barrera, Bradley Campbell, Allie Doke, Eric Domuret, Linda Leonard, Sara Shelby-Martin, Doug Miller, Delynda Moravec, Stephanie Riggs, Ryan Roach, Cara Statham Serber, Rick Starkweather and Amy Stevenson.

The show is written and directed by Neale Whitmore and will feature music direction by Adam C. Wright.

Theatre FMPAT, formerly Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre, is a non-profit professional theater created in 1993. The company presents a full annual season of stage classics mixed with contemporary favorites and original productions.

The group also operates a Young Artist Training Program emphasizing musical theater technique and acting for ages 6½ to college prep, using a teaching staff of professional actors, directors and musicians. Many students in the training program appear in Theatre FMPAT productions.

Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater is located at 100 N. Charles Street, between Main and Church streets. To reach the MCL Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. MCL Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Parking is not allowed on the grass lot across Church Street from MCL Grand.
