Mayor declares April 21 “Rockwall High Band Day”
On April 21, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Rockwall High School Orange Wave Band will join Rockwall Ford for a fundraiser at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium. The Drive One 4 UR School is a fundraiser to offset band costs such as marching equipment, clinicians, master classes, and competitions.
For each short test-drive in the stadium parking lot, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Rockwall High School Band Boosters (up to 300 test drives). In addition, Rockwall Ford will donate $10 per test drive. Test drives are free and 300 are needed to meet their goal of $9,000.
Participants must be 18 years or older and have a valid drivers’ license. One test-drive per household limit. Each drive will last 5-10 minutes.
In addition to the actual driving, live entertainment, food, a bake sale, silent auction, goody bags and more will be on site during the fundraiser. Mayor David Sweet is proclaiming April 21stRockwall High School Band Day. The band needs community support to reach their goal and would like to invite families to bring a blanket, have a family picnic and join us for Rockwall Band Day!
