Frisco presents Music in the Square

Texas Instruments Jazz Band kicks off summer concert series

(Frisco) May 17, 2012 – Frisco Square announces Music in the Square, a free, weekly summer event that kicks off June 8 and continues through July on Simpson Plaza.

Music in the Square will feature a unique line-up of talented musicians from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday night.

Bring friends and family, grab a picnic basket, some blankets or chairs and enjoy listening to a variety of musicians as the sun sets.

Each Friday will feature a different genre of music – from country, rock, bluegrass, pop and some of the area’s best singer/songwriters.  Music in the Square is “the perfect way to spend your Friday evenings  listening to many of the area’s best musicians,” said Cathy Sweeney, Partner with Frisco Square Development.

On June 8, 2012, enjoy the Texas Instruments Jazz Band – a full 18-piece big band organized through the Texans Association of Texas Instruments.  The group formed in the summer of 1986, sparked by an ad placed in a TI company newspaper.  The band rehearses at the Collin College in Plano and is under the direction of Kris Berg, the Director of Jazz Studies at the college.
