State 4-A Hawks Baseball Champs to lead Heath’s parade

Parade route changed to end at baseball field

The Heath City Council honored the 2012 State 4-A Heath Hawks Baseball Champions at the June 19 City council meeting by proclaiming June 19 as Heath Hawks Baseball Team Day in Heath and announcing that the team would lead the Annual Independence Day Parade on July 4.

(Heath) June 21, 2012 – The City of Heath’s Annual Independence Day Parade on Wednesday, July 4 will be led by the 2012 State 4-A Heath Hawks Baseball Championship team. The parade route has been changed to end at the Hawk’s Baseball Field, where a special program honoring the team will be hosted.

Plan to come celebrate Independence Day with the Heath community by watching or marching in the parade and giving our State Champs another big cheer! Enjoy free Popsicles in the “BALL” Park after the parade.

Important Details:
-Staging for the parade is at 8 a.m. at Amy Parks-Heath Elementary School.
-Judging and awards are at 8:30 a.m.
-The parade will begin at 9 a.m.
-The Heath Hawks Baseball Program begins at approximately 9:45 a.m.
-A shuttle will be available at the high school for parade participants who need a ride back to the staging area.

THE PARADE ROUTE HAS CHANGED:

For everyone’s safety: throwing candy or trinkets along the parade route will not be allowed.

City of Heath offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 and resume normal business hours on Thursday, July 5.

Please celebrate safely: The use of fireworks is strictly prohibited in the City of Heath.
