(Rockwall ISD) October 1, 2012 – Rockwall-Heath High School AP art students were given an opportunity by an author, Randall Hughes, to create art work for the cover of his book, “The Ghost Warrior.” Mrs. Aston, RHHS art teacher, treated it as a “real life” job experience.
The students were given the setting, a page from the book, and the directives were to create a book cover that represented the book based on the given information. There was a size requirement and they had 8 days including the weekend to complete the assignment. The selected winner would receive a check of $200. As a group, the students turned out some amazing work. The design from Alexis Gangeme, 11th grade, was selected!
