Talking Tombstones: Rockwall history comes to life

(Rockwall) October 16, 2012 – Rockwall pioneers, Terry Utley Wade and Amanda Truitt Willis were special guests at the recent Rockwall County Historical Foundation Brown Bag lecture series, Talking Tombstones.

Wade, portrayed by Patty Canup, and Willis, portrayed by Jan Johnson, brought the history of the early days of Rockwall to life with stories of family and faith.

Among their most treasured possessions displayed were Willis and Truitt family pictures along with a Tea Leaf ironstone platter belonging to Terry Utley Wade.

Another Talking Tombstone presentation will be held Sunday evening, October 21 at 6 pm at the Community Center in Rockwall.  The featured guest will be Meddie Bowles (portrayed by Sheri Fowler) who was accused of murdering her husband.

This event will be limited to the first 100 reservations made by calling the Museum at 972-722-1507.

Reservations for the Spaghetti Dinner will be $15 each.  Live and silent auctions and the popular spin-to-win game will help raise funds for ongoing projects for RCHF.  Among the auctioned items will be famous baked good items and a painting by well-known local artist, Electra Malone.
