(Rockwall ISD) August 22, 2013 – The Rockwall High School Jacket Backers Booster Club will host a ‘Meet The Jackets’ night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 28 in the Rockwall High School gymnasium. The format is different from previous years and will include players and coaches associated with Fall season sports, including football, volleyball, tennis and cross country. There will be additional ‘Meet The Jackets’ in the winter and spring for sports participating during those times of year.
Coach Rodney Webb, Rockwall’s Campus Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach says this new format will give fans a better opportunity to meet the players and coaches. “This year, we’re trying to create a more spirited and intimate event where the community and fans get a better chance to ‘Meet the ‘Jackets’,” said Coach Webb. “The program will be more like a pep rally with RHSA Cheerleaders, The Stingerettes, the Rockwall Orange Wave Band and Yellowjacket fans participating in the event.”
The Yellowjacket Football team opens their season the following night at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium, August 29 against Naaman Forest. The Cross Country team will have their first meet August 31 at Plano Jasper High School and the Yellowjacket Tennis team, already with two matches played will play at Wilkerson-Sanders Courts on August 23. The Lady Jacket Volleyball team began their season in early August and their next game is August 23 in a tournament at Allen High School.
Jacket Backers will also have information on the new look of the organization along with membership applications, spirit items and how members can become involved in Rockwall High School’s booster club programs.
