Women in Need’s Chocolate Indulgence is sweet success

ROCKWALL, TX (April 18, 2014) On February 7, 2014, Women in Need, Inc. held their 1^st Annual Chocolate Indulgence fundraiser at Allure Restaurant on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall. It was an evening of chocolate, food, dancing and live entertainment; all money raised benefited our community’s victims of domestic violence.

Attendees of the Chocolate Indulgence event included area representatives’ from local businesses, attorney offices, medical facilities, City officials and our Texas State Senator Bob Deuell, M.D. The evening also included Women In Need’s Executive Director, Connie Pettitt, sharing the vision of Women in Need and Senator Bob Deuell sharing his views on domestic violence.

Women In Need, Inc. is a Rockwall and Hunt County 501c3 nonprofit agency that offers both residential and non-residential services to victims of domestic violence. In Rockwall, Women In Need offers domestic violence services to victims of domestic violence and community education services for both youth and adults.

WIN is a part of the movement that works towards breaking the generational cycle of family violence and to educate families broken apart by violence so that they can live by non-violent means. Women In Need, Inc. is funded through grants and the community’s generous donations. Just this last year WIN provided educational opportunities to over 2300 adults and 1500 youths, including an intensive structured program centered on the dynamics of healthy relationships and alternatives to violence in relationships. The program provided valuable information on teen dating violence and bullying.

Women in Need, Inc. is grateful for generosity of the community as it could not continue to provide services to domestic violence victims and families without the support of the local community.
