Luby’s-Fuddruckers opens in Rockwall

ROCKWALL,TX. (July 2, 2014) Last week, Rockwall welcomed a new restaurant into its rapidly expanding collection. General Manager Adam Shumaker cut the ribbon on a new Luby’s and Fuddruckers joint concept, and guests rushed inside to get their first taste of the new cuisine.

The Luby’s-Fuddruckers combo is the third of its kind, with cousins in Austin and a suburb of Houston. The Luby’s section serves cafeteria-style food and seats 220 people, while the Fuddruckers portion allows guests to build their own burgers and seats 92.

Rockwall Chamber of Commerce President Dana Macalik said the Chamber is glad to have such a great new restaurant concept open in Rockwall, and “recognizes the contribution that restaurants are making to the economic success of our community. “

The guests invited to the Luby’s test run last Wednesday consisted primarily of government officials, city management employees, the Chamber and Board of Directors, and others involved with the restaurant’s construction. On Thursday, the restaurant officially opened its doors to the public.

Macalik said that her own dining experience was a pleasure.

“I had a wonderful experience from the minute I arrived,” she said. “Friendly staff and management greeted us and the food and service were top-notch.”

Macalik said she thinks the restaurant will be a hit.

“The demographics of the Rockwall community will easily embrace this new market development,” she said.
