A Day of Play, celebrating Ebby Halliday’s 103 1/2 birthday

ROCKWALL, TX (August 29, 2014) The community is welcome to a “Day of Play” at Miss Ebby’s Place located in the KidZone at Harry Myers Park on Washington Street in Rockwall on Wednesday, September 10  from 4 – 6 pm.

Miss Ebby Halliday will be making an appearance as the Ebby Halliday office in Rockwall is celebrating Miss Ebby’s 103 1/2 birthday.  Miss Ebby will turn 104 in March and has been a figure in real estate in the Dallas area for over 60 years.  Miss Ebby, until recently, comes to work everyday – professionally groomed and ready to meet the public – yes, that means heels and all!  She has slowed down a little over the past year but that is to be expected when you are about to turn 104!

Several years ago, community volunteers, spearheaded by Rotarian Stephen Straughn, came together to create and build the KidZone at the Park.  Rockwall Kiwanis Club, founders of the Angel League for special needs youth, asked Ebby Halliday to fund a special needs playground as an addition.  Since the special needs area is more “user friendly” it has been a great place to play for younger children, toddlers and even babies with moms and dads.

“We want the community to come celebrate Miss Ebby and the Miss Ebby’s Place” said Sylvia Kidd, Ebby Halliday’s Rockwall office manager. “We will have a snow cone truck, balloons for everyone and more.”
