Dobbs Elementary uses birthday celebrations to inspire college dreams

ROCKWALL,TX. (August 31, 2014) The Staff of Dobbs Elementary recently continued their tradition of celebrating the birthdays of their Lil Jackets.

On August 29, August birthdays were recognized. During the celebration Principal Ruth Johnson and the Assistant Principal Michael Stuart shared a favorite story book, a book about a college or university, and pencils with students.

Throughout the year, students will be exposed to 10 different colleges or universities. The students love to hear about the mascots and traditions. It’s not uncommon to see a “thumb’s up” or hear a “wreck ‘em Tech” in the Dobbs’ halls.

One Dobbs’ student even surprised Mrs. Johnson with a Texas Tech wreath as a gift.
