Mayoral proclamation recognizes Cain Middle School

ROCKWALL,TX. (October 21, 2014) Cain Middle School was honored during Monday’s city council meeting as Rockwall Mayor David Sweet officially proclaimed Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 as Cain Middle School Recognition Day in Rockwall.

Cain Middle School made huge waves this year alone in the area of student education, including earning distinct designations under the 2014 Texas State Accountability system in mathematics, science and social studies.

In 2014, Cain ranked in the top 25 percent in the area of student progress and also received recognition for Postsecondary Readiness. Also, 81 of its students qualified for Duke TIP, performing in the top eight percent of Reading/Writing STAAR scores in the state and/or the top six percent of STARR math scores statewide. The school also was recognized for its outstanding faculty, including Theater Arts teacher Jenae Glanton, who was recently named K-8 Educator of the Year by the Texas Educational Theater Association.
