Sabine Creek Ranch transforms into Southern Lights Christmas Experience

ROCKWALL, TX (Dec. 8, 2014) When Eddie and Sarah Walker decided to transform their ranch and youth camp near Rockwall into a Christmas wonderland, they had no idea how the idea would take off. Now people from across the Metroplex and far beyond are snatching up tickets to the December attraction called “Southern Lights” at Sabine Creek Ranch.

“I went into a meeting last week,” recalls Eddie, “and when I came out an hour later, over 200 more people were coming.”

They’re coming not just for the popular light shows set to music, but for a model train exhibit, hayrides, campfires, food and treats, music groups, a visit with Santa and more.

One of the attractions generating the most interest…an “Elf Prom.” Eddie describes the unique idea.

“For our summer camps, we typically have a “Nerd Prom” one night as a special activity. Kids and counselors dress up and have a great time dancing to fun, classic music. It’s a camp favorite, so we thought we’d offer a Christmas-themed version for families and friends to enjoy together.”

For now, the Walkers and their staff are making sure they’re prepared for the influx of guests to the 300+ acre ranch.

“We welcome schools, churches and other large groups throughout the year, so we’re well situated to accommodate everyone who wants to attend. Traffic is usually an issue for the drive-through displays, but we’re able to provide ample parking and let people walk around to the various displays and events to avoid long waits.”

Southern Lights at Sabine Creek Ranch will be held on nine evenings in December. For information and advance tickets, visit sabinecreek.com.
