John Hohenshelt to file for Rockwall City Council Place 2

ROCKWALL, TX (Jan. 15, 2014) Rockwall County resident John Hohenshelt will run for Place 2 on the Rockwall City Council in the upcoming May 9 election.  John Hohenshelt was appointed to Place 2 in December 2014 by the City Council.

Prior to being appointed to the City Council, Hohenshelt served seven years as a board member on the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation, including one term as Chairman.

“I am very honored that the City Council trusted me to fill the seat that was vacated when Mayor Sweet became County Judge.  I hope the citizens of Rockwall allow me to continue serving the community by electing me to Place 2 in May.  I will continue to learn more about the citizens, their needs and the capabilities of our excellent City staff with the goal of promoting quality economic development while maintaining the family atmosphere that so many of us enjoy in our city.”

Hohenshelt has been a resident of Rockwall since 1998 and is a self-employed entrepreneur.  He is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans with a B.A., M.A. and a Juris Doctor.  He served in the US Army as Captain prior to moving to Rockwall.
