Latter-day Saints youth organize Open House event Feb 7

ROWLETT, TX (Jan. 18, 2015) The members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who attend the Garner Road meetinghouse in Rowlett, are inviting the general public to attend a building open house from 6 to 8 p.m.  Saturday, Feb. 7. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend this free, special event. The youth of the Church’s congregation have organized the open house in hopes to provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the faith, culture, history, and beliefs of the Latter-day Saints and to have an open discussion about faith in Jesus Christ.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the facility, learn about genealogy, and work on their own family history with the help of trained Latter-day Saint family history consultants. Information about youth activities for young men and young women, the Church’s organization for women known as the Relief Society, service provided within and by the Church of Jesus Christ, and other important information regarding the Church will also be available to those attending.

The Garner Road meetinghouse was originally constructed in the early 1980s and has been a valuable part of the Rowlett, Garland, and Rockwall communities for years. The building currently provides worship services for more than 1,000 Latter-day Saints on a weekly basis in both English and Spanish.

This event is free to the public and light refreshments will be provided. The building address is 8201 Garner Road, Rowlett, TX 75088.
