‘Finish the Race’ 5K for Royse City student’s battle against Leukemia

(April 11, 2015) The First Baptist Church of Fate and the Royse City Independent School District invite residents to lace up their sneakers and pound the pavement to support local 16-year-old Jacob Nobles in his battle with Leukemia.

FBC Fate, along with volunteers from RCISD, has organized the first Annual “Finish the Race” 5k run event on May 2 to help with the family’s current financial needs. The flat and fast 5K will begin at 8 a.m. at the church, 813 Holiday Dr. (66) in Fate, with Rockwall Running center chip-timing the race.

All runners and walkers are welcome to participate, and all participants who register before April 20th will receive a race shirt. Registration fees include the following:

  • $20 until April 20th
  • $25 until race day
  • $30 for same day registration

All profits will be donated to the Nobles family to assist Jacob in his fight with Leukemia.

Jacob, a student at Royse City High school, loves riding motorcycles in motor cross and playing football, and has been in and out of the hospital since the beginning of the year. His mother, Denise, has been teaching within the RCISD for 16 years.
