Patriot PAWS program at Friends of Library meeting

Patriot PAWS service dogs Annie and Ross recently attended Storytime at Barnes and Noble.

(ROCKWALL, TX – May 3, 2015) Retired Colonel Keith Young will be the featured speaker at the May 12th meeting of Friends of the Rockwall County Library. In addition to telling the audience about the Patriot PAWS organization, Colonel Young will bring a service dog.

He will answer questions about who trains the service dogs, what it cost to train a dog, how the organization gets funding, who should apply for a service dog, and tell the audience how they can help. A long time library supporter, Colonel Young also is a tutor in the Adult Literacy Center at the Rockwall County Library.

Friends meets six times a year and all meetings, with the exception of the Christmas Luncheon, are held in the Community Room of the Rockwall County Library. The group works to promote the interest and welfare of the Library and profits from their various fundraising events supplement the County library budget, paying for special children’s programming, adult literacy programs, subscriptions and other items.

Meetings start at 11:00 a.m. and visitors are invited; however reservations are required and must be received by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5th. That is also the last day to cancel prior reservations. For reservations, e-mail or call 972-771-8976.
