Rockwall City Council members attend leadership event

(ROCKWALL, TX – May 13, 2015) Last week, Rockwall City Council members David White and Mike Townsend, along with 17 members of city staff, attended the local Leadercast event in Rockwall. Leadercast is a live broadcast from Atlanta, Georgia to hundreds of sites around the world. It exists to positively change the way the world thinks about leadership. Leadercast is a worldwide simulcast, providing a full day leadership event that strives to help develop better leaders, whether inside the boardroom or out in the community.

“It was incredible seeing the number of local leaders attending across numerous corporations and service areas, all focused on fostering leadership here in Rockwall and the organizations that serve our community. Our city, state, nation, and world can be changed by building leaders ready to make a positive difference. As this year’s theme pointed to finding and cultivating “The Brave Ones,” Rockwall is headed down the right path with our involvement in Leadercast 2015,” said Councilmember Mike Townsend.

The program was presented by the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce. With a reach of over 125,000 fellow professionals tuning in together, it is one of the largest leadership events ever created.

“Learning about leadership is something my father has always encouraged me to pursue. Leadercast provided an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced, world-class leaders. I look forward to attending next year,” said Councilmember David White.
