PHOTOS: Hot Rocks Bike Race draws 1325+ cyclists

(ROCKWALL, TX – August 14, 2015) More than 1,325 cyclists participated in the Rockwall Rotary Club Hot Rocks Bike Ride benefiting scholarships for local RISD students! The top three male & female finishers of the 59-mile competitive course won cash awards of $250, $200 & $150 respectively.

With routes of 59-miles, 40-miles, 23-miles, 13 miles and the newly introduced 3-mile or 6-mile kids loop – the 2015 event offered fun and challenging options for all ages and abilities. There were fully stocked rest stops sponsored by local businesses, support along the route from local law enforcement, roving bicycle mechanics providing technical support, and support vehicles patrolling between each rest stop. Luby’ and Applebee’s provided refreshments, Oak Dairy Farms provided frozen treats, and Rockwall Dermatology donated sunscreen.
