Rockwall residents may receive free pizza for properly functioning smoke alarms

Rockwall Dominos, NFPA partner with Rockwall Fire Dept to promote fire safety

(ROCKWALL, TX – September 28, 2015) Rockwall Domino’s, located at 2330 Greencrest, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are teaming up with the Rockwall Fire Department to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 4 – 10). On Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 6 – 8 p.m., anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will replace the batteries.

“Fire safety is extremely important,” said Richard Hafner, Rockwall Domino’s co-franchise owner. “We’re very excited to partner with NFPA and the fire department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors, but rewards those who make fire safety a priority.”

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign theme is “Hear the Beep Where You Sleep: Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm.”

“Half of all home fire deaths result from fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., when most people are asleep,” said Rockwall Fire Department Chief Mark Poindexter. “That’s why having a fully functioning smoke alarm in every bedroom is so important. Smoke alarms save lives.”

Customers can call Rockwall Domino’s at 972-771-4092 to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery.
