Meet and Greet Nov. 28

(ROCKWALL COUNTY, TX – Nov. 23, 2015) Andrew Hawkes, a 1989 Rockwall High School graduate and 25 year law enforcement veteran administrator, officially filed on November 14, all documents to be placed on the ballot as he seeks the republican nomination for Rockwall County Sheriff in the 2016 primary election.

Andrew began his law enforcement career in Rockwall in 1990 and is currently the Lieutenant of community services for the Collin County Sheriff’s office.

Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Dallas Baptist University, is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas, and will graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas on December 18 with an Executive Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership.

His highest honor has been the recipient of the first and only Medal of Valor from Collin County, after surviving a face to face shootout with an armed suspect.

Andrew’s vision for the Sheriff’s Office is not only to bring improved law enforcement-citizen relations, but to bring accreditation through either the Texas Police Chiefs Association or The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, which will bring transparency and the best and most modern practices to the Rockwall Sheriff’s office. Andrew will keep his strong stance and fight against domestic violence and child abuse.
