Letter to the Editor: 5 Reasons to Vote for John Keating, Texas House District 33

Letter to the editor, submitted by Tina Millican, Rockwall resident.

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 12, 2016) There are three Republican candidates running for Texas House of Representatives in District 33:  Justin Holland, Lorne Liechty and John Keating.  District 33 is gerrymandered like most districts in Texas.  It includes all of Rockwall County then it goes narrowly north, makes a sharp left turn and encompasses some of Collin County specifically near the city of Frisco.  Early voting for The Republican Primary begins Tuesday February 16 and election day is Tuesday March 1.  For details:  www.rockwallvotes.com.

John Keating is my choice for HD 33.  All the candidates sound conservative, but Keating has 5 advantages the others do not:

  1. Keating is the only veteran in the race.  He served 13 years in the military including deployments to Korea and Saudi Arabia.  Keating is an American patriot with a history of strong leadership.
  2. Keating is endorsed by our Texas Senator Bob Hall.   Hall is our incumbent Senator who was ranked as the most conservative senator this past year by Rice University.  I know Hall and trust his opinions.  He is a veteran also.
  3. Unquestionably pro-life.  Keating was adopted as an infant, so I trust his pro-life stance to be personally sincere.  Texas Right to Life has endorsed him.
  4.  Keating will represent ALL HD 33.  Keating states that “representing HD 33 is not a matter of geography, but a matter of ideology.”  I agree.
  5.  Endorsed by Texans for Fiscal Responsibility.  Texans for Fiscal Responsibility is a watch-dog group that ranks our incumbent legislators and endorses candidates.  I trust their endorsements.

Voting is not your right, it is your responsibility, so please get informed and then vote the whole ballot.  As election day draws near, question everything.  If you receive a flyer with “breaking news”, question the timing, who paid for it and can it be proven.

I trust John Keating to represent the conservative values of all the constituents in HD33, better than the other candidates.
