Honor Rally at the Rowlett Community Center July 7

(ROWLETT, TX — June 23, 2016) Members of the public are invited to a free community rally- “Bring Honor Back!” on Thursday, July 7th at 10:30, at the Rowlett Community Centre, hosted by The Men and Ladies of Honor, Honor Academy, Baker Brothers Plumbing and CBS Channel 11.

Baker Brother’s owner and TV commercial personality Jimmie Dale will deliver a lively and inspiring appeal to the public to bring Honor back to our communities, schools, and businesses, through strong leadership and character education.

Rowlett resident Tony Rorie developed the original program model in an inner-city charter school in Dallas, Texas thirteen years ago. Then serving as Principal, he implemented basic character education to address student misconduct and cultivate principles of honor and chivalry among essentially fatherless boys. The faith-based program expanded to multiple campuses, then other school districts, across Texas and the US, to five other countries.

“We believe every kid has greatness on the inside, and our job is to draw it out,” said Rorie.

Through The Men and Ladies of Honor, boys are instructed in Christ like manhood, addressing Character, Honor, Integrity and Perseverance, while girls are instructed in Loyalty, Integrity, Generosity, Honesty and Trustworthiness, emphasizing godly feminine strength and the value of virtue.

The newly-launched Honor Academy is a community-based character education program, designed to be suitable for schools and recreation center programs. Honor Academy teaches boys and girls grades 5 through 9 to CHASE their dreams, as they learn about Character, Honor, Accountability, Sacrifice, and Excellence.

The Rowlett Parks and Recreation Department incorporated the program into its summer day camp and campus culture, earning a state award for Excellence in Programming.
Steadham Elementary embraces the program for a third year, going campus-wide in the fall with a teacher-led model, meshing the C.H.A.S.E. concept with its school discipline plan. ECI Academy’s Rowlett Campus served as a campus-wide program model last year, and, after experiencing a highly measurable impact, it is preparing for a district-wide rollout in the fall to all three of its campuses.
