Royse City Chamber welcomes new members and musical fun at June luncheon

(ROYSE CITY, TX—June 22, 2016) The Royse City Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday, June 21 to recognize new members and announce future plans.

Chamber Executive Director Julia Bryant welcomed Belinda Epps and Sandra Smith with Epps Reality and Jennifer Krolczyk with Farmers Insurance as the newest member of the chamber and presented each of them with a plaque.

Bryant said this year’s inaugural Go Karting Tournament was such a success, it will replace the annual golf tournament from now on. The money raised at the tournament provided college scholarships for graduating seniors.

Bryant also announced that Celebrate Freedom will take place Friday, July 1 at the Royse City High School football stadium. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m., and country music star Tracy Lawrence will perform at 7:00p.m. followed be Mathew Middleton band at 8:20 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. There will be food and a kid zone area.

After closing announcements, Bryant introduced guest speaker Greg Beauchamp, a pastor at Christ Church in Irving. Beauchamp spoke about the impact that music has on our lives.

“Music can be a great unifier for a community… or a nation,” Beauchamp said. “That’s why we stand together and sing the national anthem.”

According to Beauchamp, we begin to formulate our identity and opinions about music around the age of 12. Beauchamp played “Name That Tune” with the crowd of Chamber members, and then played popular songs from different eras of members’ lives.

At the end of the luncheon, Bryant led a ribbon cutting for the luncheon sponsor: NovaTech Greenspace Construction.
