Thirteen Rockwall-Heath football seniors awarded memorial scholarships

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – June 16, 2016) The Hawk Huddle football boosters, Heath Hawks Community Athletics (HHCA) and the Moran family awarded scholarships from the Ethan Moran Memorial Scholarship Fund to 13 graduating football seniors from Rockwall-Heath High School on June 3.

There were multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year to raise the money that was awarded, including the RHHS Hawk Huddle golf tournament, HHCA concession sales and HHCA fundraising events totaling $17,500.

“HHCA is an outstanding organization that teaches the fundamentals of football while also encouraging spiritual growth based on  the basic principles of Christianity which will help the boys develop a solid foundation that will help them live out life with purpose,” said Coach Mickey Moss, the head football coach at Rockwall-Heath High School.

“HHCA was established ten years ago and it is exciting to see some former HHCA players as part of the graduating class,” said Daniel Moran, President and coach with HHCA. “The Moran Family and HHCA are proud to be a part of these scholarships as a living legacy to Ethan. The community of Heath has given so much to our family and this year’s scholarships are a reflection of the continued generosity and benevolence of the Heath family to invest in the future of its young people.”

Congratulations to the 2016 Ethan Moran Memorial Scholarship recipients: Mark Bielski, Jermaine Blackwell, Zachary Dobbins, Taylor Elliott,  Kooper Gilmore, Devin Himmelheber, Christian Lenk, Tyler McCalister, Jordan Miller, Trent Podleski, Jared Pulley, Garrett Swiney and Cory Wilkerson.

HHCA offers both community youth football and cheer programs for children in kindergarten to 6th grade from Amy-Parks, Jones, Pullen, Rochell, Springer and Shannon elementary schools.  HHCA offers need-based FULL and PARTIAL registration and equipment scholarships for eligible players.
