City of Heath 2016-17 Fiscal Budget Process Underway

Proposed Budget includes Reduction in Tax Rate

(HEATH, TX – Aug. 29, 2016) The City of Heath Council and staff have been working hard to prepare a budget for the Fiscal Year 2016-2017. Budget discussions have been held in open City Council meetings, which residents are encouraged to attend.

You can offer your input on the tax rate at these upcoming Public Hearings:

* Tuesday, September 13, during the regular City Council Meeting, 6:30 p.m.

* Tuesday, September 20, Special City Council Meeting, 6:30 p.m.

The proposed budget has been prepared with a tax rate of 41.7311 cents per $100 of property value. This is a reduction of 0.9289 cents per $100 from the current rate of 42.66 cents.

A final budget is currently scheduled to be adopted by the City Council at its meeting on September 27 to become effective October 1. You can view the proposed budget at heathtx.com under the Finance Department page.
