HHCA and FYFL Fall Football kicks off Saturday in Rockwall, Forney

(ROCKWALL/HEATH, TX – Aug. 25, 2016) Are you ready for some football and cheer? Heath Hawks Community Athletics (HHCA) is kicking off its 2016 season this Saturday, Aug. 27, playing teams in the Forney Youth Football League (FYFL). Games this weekend will be played at both Wisdom Field at Dobbs Elementary in Rockwall and Warren Middle School in Forney. All remaining games of the 8 game season will be played locally in Heath and Forney with the exception of games on Oct. 1 being played at SMU.

The HHCA organization has continued to grow over the years and is proud to field nearly 300 football and cheer participants from Amy Parks, Jones, Pullen, Shannon, Springer and Rochell elementary schools in grades kindergarten through 6th. The organization also has over 40 heads-up certified coaches and assistant coaches as well as parent volunteers in place to ensure a successful season.

“The start of the season is always an exciting time for our players and parents,” said Andrew Thomas, President of HHCA. “This week is a special time for our players. Our players will be awarded their “H” helmet decal signifying the end of training camps and showing they are ready to play as a HHCA hawk.”

Thomas adds, “This year we have found a likeminded partner in the FYFL which also provides a positive coaching environment, giving our players the opportunity to learn and love the game of football.”

“We have worked very hard now for several months together with HHCA preparing for our 2016 season that will get under way this Saturday. We couldn’t be more excited to have the HHCA Heath Hawks playing with us this year!” says FYFL Commissioner Jason Sheperd. “We welcome all the families of the HHCA for the 2016 season!”

The Forney Youth Football League was founded 7 years ago in Forney in partnership with the City, FISD, Tony Gonzales, Jason Raglin, Jason Ashcroft and several others.  While the League started with 4 Teams and 3 Divisions and it has quickly grown to the 7 Teams and 4 Divisions that play today.  The FYFL intends to continue to expand over the next couple of years by adding teams due to growth of the city and surrounding areas.   We look for forward to working with both communities to add facilities for the betterment of Forney and Heath kids.

The HHCA and FYFL organizations are dedicated to providing the best option for community football in Heath and Forney by providing a safe and constructive environment for children of all talent levels.
