One-night film event in Rockwall: The Insanity of God

(ROCKWALL, TX — Aug. 11, 2016) Fathom Events and LifeWay Films will present a special event in cinemas nationwide on Tuesday, August 30. The Insanity of God, based on the book by Nik Ripken (2013, B&H Publishing), is the story of Nik and Ruth Ripken, a Kentucky couple who spent six grueling years doing missionary relief work in Somalia, a country that seemed abandoned by the planet and by God. The death of their son added to a faith crisis that caused the couple to leave Africa with serious questions about why God allows suffering. Subsequent journeys to understand how the persecuted church has survived and flourished helped the Ripkens learn to love and follow Christ when nothing makes sense.

The 2016 film, in association with the International Mission Board (IMB), will include a time of Q&A with the Ripkens and IMB Board President David Platt.

Rockwall Cinemark 12 will show the one-night film at 7 p.m. (tickets currently available online). The Insanity of God is rated PG-13 and runs 110 minutes.
