One Man’s Treasure provides ‘prayerful hand up’ to indigent, formerly incarcerated men

Special event at Toyota of Rockwall Sept 22 for North Texas Giving Day

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 21, 2016) As a part of North Texas Giving Day this Thursday, September 22, One Man’s Treasure’s Executive Director, Annette Jenkins, will be on hand at Toyota of Rockwall from 9 am to 4 pm to share information about how this Rockwall based non-profit is providing a “prayerful hand up” to the  indigent men who are returning to the Dallas/ Rockwall area after years of incarceration.

The mission of the charity is to help these returning men change the direction of their lives by providing decent clothing for daily living and job interviews and referrals to resources for their other critical needs.  There are different ways that men and women can be part of One Man’s Treasure’s mission to help men overcome the many challenges to successful re-entry into our communities that they face, find employment and become productive members of society. This event is an opportunity to learn how you can be part of this growing mission, help lower the rate of recidivism (return to prison) among these clients, and make our communities safer.

“This week One Man’s Treasure reached another milestone – year to date our volunteers have already delivered sets of clothing to a record 1000 men compared to 2015’s total of 870 men served, a then annual record for this eleven year old charity.  The need is great and we hope that you will take a minute to stop by Toyota of Rockwall on September 22nd and learn more about the work that we are doing among these often overlooked men and how you can be part of this simple, but worthwhile ministry,” said Jenkins. “I have personally heard the sincere appreciation in the voices of men who call the clothes closet to say “thank you” not only for the clothes they received, but for caring.  It does make a difference!  Toyota of Rockwall has been a tremendous partner with One Man’s Treasure over the years and we are grateful to them for this opportunity.  I hope to see you there!!”
