Rockwall High announces Homecoming Week festivities

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 27, 2016) Rockwall High School Homecoming week is October 10-15.  The RHS Homecoming Parade will take place on October 12.  The parade begins at 6:00 pm at Dobb’s Elementary School.  The parade route will follow Clark Street to Boydston to Townsend, and end at the Wilkerson Sanders Stadium parking lot.

The Class of 2017 will host a BBQ Bash beginning at 6:00 p.m. outside the entrance of Wilkerson Sanders Stadium.  Cole Mountain chopped beef sandwiches will be available to purchase for $10.  Included with the sandwich is chips, drink and cookie.  Tables and chairs will be available for patrons to sit and enjoy the homecoming atmosphere.

The 2016 Parade Marshal is Justin Holland.  Justin is a 2002 Rockwall High School graduate and a sixth-generation Rockwall native. Justin grew up in a hardworking, and self-reliant family. Justin learned at an early age the value of personal responsibility and dedication in business from his father, Lance Holland.  Justin is a real estate broker who co-owns and operates Regal Realtors. In the community, Justin has served as a member of the Heath City Council, is a member of Rockwall Rotary Club, an endowed member of East Trinity Lodge #157, and a member of the Rockwall Republican Men’s Club. Justin is the Republican nominee for State Representative in Texas House of Representatives district 33 and hopes to serve Rockwall and Collin Counties in the 85th legislature, if elected.  Justin and wife Neely have been married for eight years and are raising two young girls.

On October 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center located at Utley Middle School RHS club sweethearts and escorts will be recognized.  Beginning at 7:15 p.m. the RHS 2016 Homecoming Court will be recognized in pre-game ceremonies at Wilkerson Sanders Football Stadium.  The RHS 2016 Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during the ceremony.  Kick-off is 7:30 p.m. for the football game between RHS and Mesquite Horn High School.

The homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, October 15 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.  The theme of this year’s dance is Downtown Lights.  Tickets can be purchased during all lunches on October 4, 6, 7, 10, 11 at Rockwall High School.  More information is available on the RHS website.
