Rockwall Jazz Band members win chairs in All Region Jazz Band

(ROCKWALL, TX – Sept. 26, 2016) Seven members of the Rockwall High School Jazz Band won chairs in the Region 25 All Region Jazz Auditions at McKinney North High School on Wednesday, September 21.

Riley Stewart, Nick Messick, Aren Moore, Alex King, Ryan Rohde, James Matthews, and Trey Efeney won seven of the 21 chairs that make up the Region 25 Jazz Band. Rockwall High School has more students represented in the group than any other Region 25 school. The Region 25 Jazz Band will present their annual concert at McKinney North High School at 5 p.m. on November 19. The concert is free and open to the public.

Rockwall High School All Region Jazz students will be joined by Rockwall High School senior Brendon Vera and advance to the TMEA Area C Jazz recorded auditions which will be held at McKinney North. This is the final stop on the road to the Texas All State Jazz Band.

Last year, two members of the Rockwall HS Jazz Band earned chairs in the TMEA All State Jazz Band. Those students are Nick Messic and Nathan Mathura who graduated in 2016.
