Singer-songwriter Anacarina CD signing Oct 29 in Rockwall

(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct 24, 2016) For many years, Anacarina Acuña’s eyes have been examined by her aunt and local optometrist Dr. Holly Fisher Britt. “Her eyes aren’t exactly 20/20, but her ability to see through the eyes of teenagers and into their souls is truly perfect,” says Dr. Britt. “Anacarina puts what she sees in the souls of youth into words in a way that isn’t always rose-colored. But her music is honest and soulful.”

Performing under her first name, ANACARINA™, the 18-year-old indie pop singer-songwriter from Houstonreleased three singles earlier this year. They are available on digital media sources, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Napster. “My first recorded single, ‘Going Under’, was written during my freshman year in high school,” says Anacarina. “This is a tough time for teens trying to find out who they are amidst mixed messages of “be creative’ and “only do this.’ “Beautiful (So Damn)” and “Hot Feelings” are on the other spectrum. They are about discovery, about celebrating connection to another person.” All three singles are on her full-length debut album “Soot Covered Soul” which hit the digital market earlier this month.

Also on this album is “Children of the Night,” a song Anacarina says was completely inspired by teenagers in her Houston suburb, The Woodlands, who live on the fringe. “These are teens like me, whose parents are successful, distracted, usually incredibly demanding, and teens who are intelligent, but burned out by a culture of conflicting messages. They are up all the time with homework, jobs, worries about the future, and a need to flee from it all. I want the youth in Rockwall to know they are not alone. We all experience situations that can break us to the core, but we can come through it.”
