Rest Haven, Flower Box to host Rockin’ Christmas

Floral design contest to feature five local celebrity designers

(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 5, 2016) The annual Open House at The Flower Box will kick off A Rockin’ Christmas event at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, and will welcome guests throughout the afternoon.  The popular local celebrity designer contest will match six Rockwall County residents in a fun-filled floral design competition.

Last year’s winning floral arrangement was created by Diana Chapman, Rockwall ISD.

This year’s slate of celebrity designers include: Justin Holland, Realtor with Regal Realtors and Texas House of Representatives Elect; Janet Nichol, Royse City Mayor; Dr. John “JJ” Villarreal, Superintendent of Schools for Rockwall ISD; Amy Conner, local resident and Independent Distributor of Rodan + Fields Dermatologists; and back to defend her title, 2015 Celebrity Design Competition winner, Diana Steger Chapman.

Billy Quinton, play-by-play voice for Rockwall Yellowjackets football and owner of Qball Design, puts his creative spin on his entry in last year’s celebrity designer contest.

All proceeds from this “dollar-for-votes” competition will benefit local law enforcement.

The fun will continue at Rest Haven from 3:30 to 6 p.m., with train rides to the North Pole, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, face painting, games, food trucks and Christmas crafts.

Internationally acclaimed Elvis tribute artist David Allen will perform at the Rockin’ Christmas event.

Then, at 6 p.m., the lights will come on under the big tent for a Rockin’ Christmas Concert by internationally acclaimed Elvis Tribute Artist, David Allen. David is from Dallas and has been performing his tribute to the King of Rock ‘n Roll, Elvis Presley, since 2000.

Among his numerous awards and honors, David has been ranked several times in the top ten in the world at the official Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest.  The international contest is held annually in Memphis, TN, and is sponsored by Elvis Presley Enterprises.
