State Rep Justin Holland sworn in as first Texas House member from Rockwall County since 1915

AUSTIN, TX – Yesterday, State Representative Justin Holland (R-Rockwall) was sworn in to serve House District 33 (HD 33) in the Texas House of Representatives. The 85th Texas Legislature convenes today for 140 days.

“I’m incredibly honored to serve the residents of HD 33 and it’s an honor to be the first elected state representative from Rockwall County in over 100 years,” Rep. Holland said. “I look forward to increasing local control in our public schools, addressing the issues within Child Protective Services, and cutting wasteful spending and regulation that burdens our small business owners.”

Recently, Rep. Holland filed HCR 42 designating Rockwall as the official Live Music Capital of North Texas. The concurrent resolution has the support of many local elected officials.

“Rockwall has many live music events every year with performances from Texas music legends Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker and the Charlie Daniels Band. We have people from all over the state coming to Rockwall for live music and it’s great for the economy in North Texas,” said Rep. Holland.
