Kevin Lamberth files for third term to Heath City Council

(HEATH, TX — Feb. 1, 2017) Heath Councilman, Kevin Lamberth, has filed for re-election to the Heath City Council.  Initially elected in 2013, he is wrapping up his second term as the Place 1 Council Seat.  Previously, he served as chairman, on the Board of Adjustments for the City.

During his first two terms, Lamberth focused on projects that improved the infrastructure of the City.  “Improving city roads, water and sewer services are not glamorous projects to work on.  However, these items are a priority for a city that is growing like ours.”  Lamberth, who moved to Heath in 1979, believes that amid a growing demand for future development, smart growth and alignment to the City’s comprehensive plan is vital to keeping Heath’s appeal.  “Heath has a charm that has attracted families for many decades. It’s that same charm that continues to make Heath… well, … Heath!”   Lamberth stated.

Another passion for Lamberth is public safety.  In his current term, Lamberth worked with the City’s Department of Public Safety to review, adjust and approve a budget that incorporated the addition of fire & safety personal, much needed upgrades to safety equipment, and the purchase of a new ‘state of the art’ Fire Truck.  Lamberth commented, “All of this was done at within a fiscally responsible, balanced budget.”

When asked, ‘What has Kevin Lamberth learned during his first two terms in office?’  Without hesitation, Lamberth replied, “It’s important to listen, and remain open to other opinions.  When you take a stand and refuse to listen to opposing views, then you have your own agenda.  That’s not the good for the City, and not what we are elected to do.”  Lamberth wants to continue to be a voice for the neighbors.

“It has been an honor to serve the City and work with my colleagues on the City Council for the past four years. Thanks to the guidance of this and previous Councils, Heath is poised for strong economic growth during the next few years. I would like to continue to play a role towards strategic growth, and infrastructure improvements for our neighborhoods,” Lamberth said.

Kevin and wife, Tracee, have been married for 20 years and have two daughters and a son – Audrey (17) Morgan (15) and Hudson (12). The Lamberth’s are members of Lake Pointe Church, where Kevin serves in the middle school ministry.

The General Election for City Council Place 1, Place 2, Place 4 and Place 6 is scheduled for May 6th, 2017.
