Ribbon cutting ceremony celebrates grand opening of Fate City Hall

(FATE, TX – Feb. 7, 2017) The City of Fate was joined by the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, local dignitaries, citizens, the Miss May Vernon Elementary School Choir, and City of Fate staff to commemorate the grand opening of the new City Hall with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Saturday at 1900 CD Boren Parkway, Fate, TX 75087. The building dedication also took place during the event.

The project was intended to consolidate all City offices into one facility, provide sufficient space for future staffing needs, and make available a meeting place for official Council, Court, and Board meetings. Work began in June, 2015 with a project budget of $8,100,000.

“The dedication of this City Hall marks the beginning of a new era for the City of Fate and its residents,” said Mayor Lorne Megyesi.  “Our community is growing at a tremendous pace and this facility will provide room for our staff and services to grow for many years to come.”

The City of Fate funded the majority of the project, with $2,000,000 provided for by the Williamsburg development and $400,000 in land donated by Woodcreek developers Pat Sessions and Larry Rutherford.  The City has over $25,000,000 in capital projects in progress or just completed.

Located along the I-30 corridor in the heart of Rockwall County and only minutes from Lake Ray Hubbard, Fate is one of the fastest-growing cities in the DFW area.  The City of Fate is a full-service City under the Council-Manager form of government, with a Mayor and six (6) Councilmembers. Fate is served by two highly ranked school districts, Rockwall ISD and Royse City ISD.
