Rockwall police respond to homes damaged by storms

(ROCKWALL, TX – March 29, 2017)  On Wednesday, March 29th, 2017, at approximately 3:10 a.m., the Rockwall Communications Center began receiving calls regarding reports of storm damage in the Dalton Ranch Subdivision in north Rockwall.  Several homes have extensive damage as the storm moved quickly through the city.  One resident was transported to an area hospital but injuries are not considered life-threatening.  Additional damage may become more apparent during daylight hours.  Further assessment will occur throughout the day.

Both the Rockwall Fire Department and Rockwall Police Department are still in the neighborhood assisting with damage assessments.  The Street Department is clearing debris in the roadways.  The Rockwall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is also onsite to help with cleanup and assist those in need. The public is being asked to stay away from the area while cleanup is ongoing and school will resume as usual for Celia Hayes Elementary.
