Revere teens give back to Patriot PAWS

(ROCKWALL, TX — August 25, 2017) When US Army veteran Cpl. Frank DeFronzo received his service dog from Patriot PAWS in April, 2015, everyone knew that a service dog would help Frank, but little did anyone know how it would affect his children.

Revere, MA resident Frank received his service dog, Ross, two years ago from Patriot PAWS Service Dogs in Rockwall. The mission of Patriot PAWS is to train and provide service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities in order to help restore their physical and emotional independence.

Veterans receiving dogs become part of the Patriot PAWS family and often come back to visit from all over the country. On Frank and Ross’ most recent visit to Patriot PAWS, his second this year, Frank, brought a special gift from his children. Frank delivered $200 along with the following note from his kids:

Dear Patriot PAWS,

My brother and I would like to donate our allowance money to help out other
veterans. We have seen how much Ross has helped our dad and we hope many
other veterans will get dogs just as great as Ross. We are sorry we couldn’t come
down, but if you could name a dog Max, we would love that.

Your Friends,
Mike and Amanda DeFronzo

Patriot PAWS staff and volunteers alike were moved to tears by the generosity and selflessness of these two young people.
