(ROCKWALL, TX — September 25, 2017) Nebbie Williams began a pilot S.T.E.A.M. program this year.  Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathemtaics, or S.T.E.A.M., is a sixth grade class being taught by Mrs. Zurbach, the Library Media Specialist.  “I was honored when Mrs. Gielow asked me to help out with the S.T.E.A.M. class,” Katherine Zurbach said.  “The students work on Passion Projects using science, math, and other key areas, as well as explore technology through lessons and, like you see here, in a Technology Petting Zoo.”

During the recent Technology Petting Zoo, sixth graders coded video games, created homework apps, constructed electronic machines using circuit boards, built elaborate engineering structures, and took virtual field trips.  Students were able to choose S.T.E.A.M. as one of their elective choices and they attend class three days a week.
