Cross country varsity girls run to 2nd place overall in Stallion Stampede Invitational

(ROCKWALL, TX — October 5, 2017) The Rockwall High School cross country team competed Sept. 30 in the Ben Robertson Stallion Stampede Invitational in Rowlett.

The girls varsity team placed 2nd overall. Kate Avery was the first finisher for the team in 6th place with a time of 21:10; Emilia Nunez in 10th place with a time of 21:22; Olivia Cade in 30th with a time of 22:58; Ana Gonzalez in 31st with a time of 23:06; Annie McKee in 37th place with a time of 23:37 and Olivia Born in 49th place with a time of 24:29.

The boys varsity team placed 4th overall. Austin Shumake was the first finisher for the team in 9th place with a time of 17:32; River Hill in 10th place with a time of 17:35; Brayden Ortiz in 17th place with a time of 18:03; Jack Hittson-Smith in 19th place with a time of 18:11; also competing for the boys varsity team was Tyler Mcarty with a time of 19:39 and Joseph Martin with a time of 19:40.

The girls JV team placed 2nd and the boys JV team placed 7th.

The cross country team competes this Friday, Oct. 6 at the Jesuit Classic at Norbuck Park in Dallas.
