(ROCKWALL, TX – Oct. 18, 2017) Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt proclaimed Oct. 16-20, 2017 Chamber of Commerce Week in the City of Rockwall during Monday’s City Council meeting, encouraging “all our citizens to recognize and applaud this organization for its professional endeavors which benefit our city and beyond.”

Pruitt said that this is a dynamic business community and the reason Rockwall has been so successful is because we are a business-friendly area, and that’s why people decide to come here…”and we could not have done it without the hard work of the Chamber of Commerce.”

Interim President Darby Burkey, who also serves as Vice President of Partner Engagement for the Chamber, thanked the City Council and citizens for their support and said, “We are proud to be part of a dynamic organization that is such an integral part of our community.”

This year is the 88th anniversary of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 1929, and serves as a unified voice for area businesses.
