She feels called upon to do her part to help build and uphold our country’s best values. She exemplifies the idea of the “American Dream” by becoming successful due to her hard work! Her dedication to her students shows that she wholeheartedly believes in equal educational opportunities, as she had the opportunity to become a product of the Texas education system.

After graduation, she worked for TRIO Programs at Southern Methodist University, and later for the Foreign Language Program at Texas A&M University-Commerce, during which time she continued her studies and obtained her M.A. degree in Spanish Literature in 2006.

Ericka strives daily to pursue kindness, honesty, and decency, three essential things for which every citizen of our country should also strive. Ericka has much to offer to her community, and she is interested in its future. As a hardworking educator, she leaves a legacy of good work and has made an impact on students’ and their families’ lives. She now wants to do the same for Rockwall County, Precinct 4.
