Rockwall Soroptimists treat Reese Manor seniors to Christmas lunch

(ROCKWALL, TX – Dec. 11, 2017) The Rockwall Soroptimist treated the residents of Reese Manor on Lake Meadows Drive in Rockwall to their annual Christmas Luncheon on Sunday, December 10.

After a delicious lunch prepared by the club members, each resident got to sit on Santa’s lap as Santa and Mrs. Claus (Robert and Ada Mooney) handed out the $100 Walmart Gift Cards provided by the Club.

The S.T.A.R.S Project (Soroptimist Toasting Area Retired Seniors) was started over 10 years ago. The club hosts quarterly themed lunches to celebrate the residents’ birthdays for that quarter and presents each with a gift card and goody bag of essential items. The Christmas luncheon is the fifth of the year and the most fun.

This year Santa came and Piper Vance played carols on the violin. The residents and club members have enjoyed getting to know each other these past years and have developed lasting friendships.
