New Beginnings

New Beginnings

(ROCKWALL, TX — January 5, 2018) Season’s greetings, readers! With the new year now upon us, I find myself reflecting back on all the good news happening around Rockwall that we at Blue Ribbon News were able to share this past year, and I can’t help but get excited about what lies ahead for the county in 2018. A number of quality developments are set to get underway or have already been making some headway. All one has to do is take a drive around the county and it’s hard not to miss all the dirt beginning to turn.

2018 Outlook for Rockwall County
In our January 2018 issue, we delve into some of the major developments happening around the county within the coming year, from restaurants and hotels to shopping and retail. A Texas Roadhouse is coming to Rockwall, and I’m pretty excited about that because their rolls and honey butter are the absolute best of the best. Their steaks are good, but honestly just let me at the rolls and butter and I’ll be full in no time! The Cinemark expansion is something I can’t wait to see come to fruition. Although I’m not a frequent movie-goer, I certainly think the expansion to the theater will be a welcome addition to The Harbor and is a step in the right direction in terms of drawing more foot traffic to the area.

Rockwall ranks as one of the fastest growing counties in the entire nation, and it’s easy to see why after taking a look at all the developments being planned in each of the county’s municipalities. It’s awesome to see so much growth happening not just in one particular area of Rockwall, but pretty much all over.

“We’ve Got Good News”
With all the growth Rockwall has seen in the past decade and likely will continue to see in 2018, there’s bound to be even more positive people, businesses and events to shine the spotlight on, and you can be sure that Blue Ribbon News will be doing just that. Over the past year, we’ve discovered new and engaging ways to share the good news with the community, and we hope to build on that going into 2018.

With our Facebook Live broadcasts, Blue Ribbon News has looked to bring you coverage of positive happenings as they unfold. From coverage of major events happening in the county, to spotlighting longtime businesses or new ones just opening their doors to the community, Blue Ribbon News has had a lot of fun being on the scene and giving a firsthand account of all the positive things the county has to offer. Like us on Facebook and you’ll be notified every time we go live so that you can catch the good news as it’s happening. And if you happen to miss out on any of our positive news, no worries – just check out our e-newsletter at BlueRibbonNews.com or the Replay section we’ve begun implementing in our monthly print editions this year.

A Resolution for the New Year
On a more personal note, I’m excited to see what the new year holds in store for my wife and I. Recently, we’ve begun reading the Bible together and it has been one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. I’m not usually one to make resolutions every time a new year rolls around, but this year I will set at least one goal for myself: to form a stronger relationship with God by doing more activities with Julie that will strengthen our love for the Lord and His love in us. Whether it’s becoming more involved in our church or helping out in the community, I look forward to growing closer to God with my person at my side. And I hope that no matter what your goals are for the new year, that you’ll be able to achieve them alongside a loved one.

From all of us at Blue Ribbon News, we wish you all a Happy New Year!
