Terrell Chamber of Commerce names new EDC President

(TERRELL, TX — February 5, 2018) Dawn Steil, Vice President of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Corporation, has been named President. Danny Booth, who has served as the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation for over 32 years, is now the Economic Development Consultant, Chamber President Carlton Tidwell announced today.

“Dawn’s wealth of knowledge and expertise with the Economic Development team’s proven track record of attracting and retaining new companies, will enable Terrell America to continue to create high-wage jobs, strengthen its competitiveness and enhance our quality of life,” said Tidwell.

Terrell, Texas is in the midst of a development boom with a 74,000 square foot Film Alley multi-venue concept under construction at the 255-acre Crossroads at Terrell next to the popular Buc-ee’s Travel Center, $44,400,000 in Madix, Oldcastle, Walmart and Steelway expansions at both Business Parks, the branding/redevelopment of Historic Downtown Terrell and implementation of a new Strategic Plan that focuses on future growth challenges and opportunities.

A native of Texas, Steil began her career with the Terrell Chamber of Commerce/CVB in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant. She was promoted to Vice President of the Economic Development Corporation in 2010. Steil serves as a board member on the Texas Economic Development Council, the North Central Texas Economic Development District (NCTEDD), the Zoning Board of Adjustments for the City of Terrell and committee chair on the Kaufman County Leadership Council. Steil and her husband Don Steil live in Terrell and have five children and three granddaughters.
