Commissioners Court honors Veteran Services Officer for Rockwall County

(ROCKWALL, TX — April 2, 2018) During its regular meeting last week, Rockwall County Commissioners Court presented Veteran Services Officer Linda Flannery with a Certificate of Appreciation for her efforts in supporting and advocating for military veterans.

Flannery, who served in the US Navy from 1984-1997, was appointed by the Rockwall County Commissioners Court to the role of Veteran Services Officer for the Rockwall County Veteran Services Office, which seeks to to provide professional assistance to Rockwall County Veterans and their dependents on a wide range of VA benefits and state benefits to which they may be entitled (e.g., compensation claims, pension claims and survivor’s benefits, etc.).

“I have never had any concerns about the job that you do and understanding the role which you were hired for, and you go above and beyond in terms of your responsibilities as Veteran Services Officer for Rockwall County,” said County Judge David Sweet.

“Linda will go above and beyond, to any meeting and any venue to present and advocate for veterans in Rockwall County,” said Commissioner Lee Gilbert. “Most of them don’t live in Rockwall County, but her door is always open to them even though they’re not here, to serve them, to honor them for their service to their country.”
